Come hang out with us on Wednesdays!

Hey Guys,

In the summer, it is easy to get lost in everything going on. Camps, vacations and transitions make it easy for team relationships to suffer which can cause ministries to suffer. God has called us to something way too big to do alone. So at our Cooper City campus, I want to invite you to something special:
This summer, in our adult auditorium, we will be showing a Pixar movie every week. The plan is for you to bring your lunch, hang out with the gang, watch the flick and give commentary to it.

We will be giving prizes to the coolest lunch box brought each week. Don’t feel bad though! If you no longer have your Brady Bunch lunch box, just brown-bag it. And like the old school days, we'll trade PB & J sandwiches for ham and cheese and whatever else you might bring. It will be a fun, encouraging way to stay in contact with the team. Oh and feel free to make a few phone calls and invite some of your best volunteers to come and hang with us!

Steph and I love you guys and feel very honored to be doing life with you.

God Bless,

Troy

SUMMER is here!!!

Can you believe the SUMMER is here already!! We just did the Gift Revolution didnt we? Well, its my 5th Summer at Flamingo & Ive learned that things look & feel a "little"different.

Here are 10 things for a summer ministry season directly from Pastor T:
  1. REST - When you are on your break--enjoy it, trust the folks you have raised up and let them have fun.
  2. ENGAGEMENT - When you are away, rest; but when you are here, stay engaged, execute with passion and raise up new people within your groups & ministry teams.
  3. PERSONAL GROWTH - Make sure you and your team have an intentional plan to grow, without it, your team will return in the fall the same way they ended the ministry season. READ!!!!
  4. PROJECTS - What is the summer project your team will be dreaming, meeting and discussing? What is the problem it will solve? The answer it will give?
  5. FINANCES - Remember that we have chosen to run after the dream that God has given us and we are putting our money where our dream is.  By now, you should have a fun way to encourage your team to cut spending.  Remember the PRIZE will go to the ministry that has the largest % difference between what their budget numbers are and what they literally spent. These are challenging times, but the challenges in front of us can help us be better stewards and have more effective ministries.
  6. PRAY - Please pray for our Pastor & his family. Pray for health, passion, courage and wisdom.  Pray for your teams PASSION for the next ministry season.  Pray that God will bring you new folks with out-of-the-box ideas!!!!
  7. FAILURE - What does it mean for you and your team if...FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION?
  8. ONLINE - Have your team stay engaged with reading and interaction through technology: Twitter, Facebook, blogs, MySpace.  Let’s own this for the kingdom!
  9. VALUES - Remind those in your small groups while ministry looks different in the summer we are still living out the Ethos. We are still working on the XL7 and we are still expecting God to do some amazing things through HIS church family called Flamingo Road Church.
  10. STAY CONNECTED!!! Be sure to join www.frcsmallgroups.ning.com.

"Its a GRIND" night!

Elevate is going to be having a night at "It's a Grind" coffee house on Miramar Pkwy & Flamingo Rd. tonight from 6-9 PM.

It's a fundraiser for us as well as a hang-out time for all of our small group peeps. They're basically opening up the place for us to plug weekend services and Elevate, and 10% of everything that's bought goes to Elevate. We're providing our own entertainment and music (there's a crew doing sketch comedy, a couple of other people are performing original music, and someone else is leading group games). Come on out!!!

Sponsor a Student!

Leaders, we have a unique opportunity to help sponsor a Student & send them to RUSH Camp next week! Pastor Scott & his Team have put together AN AMAZING RUSH CAMP experience, but many students are hoping for a sponsor.

We are asking Small Groups & Connection Ministries to sponsor a Student, or sponsor part of the cost. Camp week is $250.

So whether you can sponsor the entire journey, or contribute towards 1 day of that journey, everything helps! Make checks payable to FLAMINGO ROAD CHURCH & write in THE RUSH. Donations have to be made by this Saturday June 13th. Bring them by the Connections Corner.

Many kids surrender their lives to Christ at summer camps....your donation can impact one of their eternities!  Lets help students get to RUSH WEEK!!!!
