FRC Kids:  Changing the World

It wasn't too long ago that I found this RED note in my oldest sons, Christopher's backpack, sealed & addressed to one of his best buds, Andres Garcia.

It read, "Dear Andres, we can change the world together" Love Chris R.

I was immediately reminded of several of our Ethos...POTENTIAL, MOVEMENT, COLLABORATION!!! I smiled when I thought of the Destiny ahead for these 2 friends. My heart was stirred with all kinds of thoughts!

Christopher turns 7 today. Im on the way to surprise him with a class JEDI party. Time goes by so fast when you have kids...my prayer every single day is that I am able to shape, pour into him, instill what he needs to REACH the plan God has for his life...with the least amount of bumps & bruises. 

Got Judas on my mind...

I can relate to many folks in the Bible.  Joseph, Martha, Esther, even Eve...but Judas? Not til this past weekend. 

I think we all tend to correlate Easter with the crucifixion of Christ...the ultimate sacrifice & symbol of "forgiveness". But PTroy would challenge us "to run from the cross to the TOMB", where the true miracle occurred. The RESURRECTION. Fact is if the story had ended at the Cross, we wouldn't be having this convo.

And ever since then, I am trying with all that I am, to see things, situations, circumstances,people... through the eyes of the resurrection.

You see, Judas gave up to soon....he quit, hung himself and COMPLETELY missed out on THE miracle. I've been at the verge of quitting on situations in my life, on people I loved, but this Easter, I was reminded that Christ had every reason to give up & he didn't...I was also reminded that it didn't happen overnight. This miracle took 3 days....some will take 3 months, others years?!

Christ remained FOCUSED on His mission (His destiny), surrendered ultimately to the Father's will & was part of an eternal Miracle.

God, I pray the same for my life & the lives of those reading this....that we would solely follow your will...never give up too soon like Judas and risk missing out on the miracle you have for our lives. May we see every single day & situation, our marriages, finances, whatever IT is, through the eyes of the Resurrection. 

Beach Baptisms ROCK!!!

I love beach baptisms...love the new start they represent..the freshness...the obedience factor of that "next step".  As a member, it was a privilege to just go & witness the life change...as a Pastor, its an honor everytime you step foot in the water and be Christ with skin on.

Ready for Easter?

Leaders, 3 Musts for every Small Group/Connection Leaders this Easter:

* Please make sure you have submitted your IT Commitments by this weekend if you havent done so already. Every commitment is one step closer to 50, 100, 150!

* INVITE, INVITE, INVITE - you should not come across one life, and over look an invitation. Keep those Easter service time cards with you at ALL times & be intentional. Door to door works too! We met a few new neighbors in the process & you never know the need behind the door.

* Make sure you are signed up to serve at the Connections Corner at least 1 pre & post service Easter Weekend. We need ALL hands on deck! Email alice.aschbrenner@flamingoroad.org tonight. 

Easter is such a huge opportunity to change people's eternities. As Leaders you should each be praying for:

• 20,000 lives to make it out to one of our 7 campuses.

• over 500+ Lives registered for Beach Baptism
• Offering of 500k Easter Weekend!
• Praying for our Pastor as he prepares to bring it 11 times LIVE

My newest Love...

Thanks for your emails, texts, twits, & facebook messages...I am elated to bring this new life into the world...meet my newest love, baby Christian which means "a man who has Christ in his heart" (named by my oldest son Christopher Edwin). 

Its so difficult to put into words what you feel when you are given such a precious gift. I pray everyday...help me instruct him, shape him, pour into him all he needs to reach his destiny.

Thank you God for my newest love...you knew even as Doctors repeated for many years...we would never conceive that he was coming...on your terms...your timing. I love & trust in you all the days of my life.
