I live for Weekends!!

I used to say that all the time!! and when I say it now, its with greater meaning & passion. Since being in Ministry...I TRULY LIVE FOR WEEKENDS! I am so pumped about what God will do this weekend. We are praying...dreaming, expecting BIG TIME, as PT shares the DREAMS God has for our Flamingo.

INVITE, INVITE, INVITE!!!

And in the words of our Pastor T earlier...we are Running NOT walking after our DESTINY together :)

Connections Corners...coming to a campus near you!

Leaders, we are officially launching Connections this weekend at all campuses and I wanted you all to have a sneak peak to the logo & feel.

We decided to go with a denim look because the word "connect" translates to "Levi" in the Hebrew.

Denim is interwoven, durable fabric that last many, many years...just like relationships.

And our goal in Connections is to connect lives & help them find their next steps through small groups, connection ministries, book studies, & GEARs.

Dreams!

What an amazing day in History today! and to think we just celebrated the "I have a dream" Martin Luther King yesterday, who 40 years ago had the guts to dream & share (vocalize) his dream, run after his dream no matter what the consequences would be.

As Pastor Ricky ministered this weekend, he used the words "dream & fear" in the same sentence during one of the services as he prayed...ironic when these 2 words are polar opposites, but are they really? I began to think...they go hand in hand many times. I am sure MLK felt fear at times when he shared his dream.

This morning PT shared a statement in Staff Meeting that would mark me "Don't be afraid of finding out WHO you are...no matter where it LEADS you". Meaning the closer you get to your purpose & destiny, the more YOU, your purpose, will be revealed, and the more the direction for your life may change. But you gotta trust, that HE has the perfect plan for your life.

You will begin to live when you lose yourself in God's purpose for you!

Small stuff

Jesus made a simple statement about priorities when He said, "Make the kingdom of God your primary concern" (Matthew 6:33) What did He mean....instead of being preoccupied with the details of your life...focus on God first. Trust Him to arrange your priorities...to handle the small stuff.

When you reduce your priorities to one detail...and its God, then every detail falls into place. Give God the small stuff, and you will have a more effective focus in your LIFE.

Your role as a Connections Leader: to partner with people to reach their God-potential by being ambassadors of the Vision, creating a group where people naturally Connect, and growing other Leaders.

NEW LEADERSHIP METRICS for ALL Connection Leaders:

Attendance to Connection Meetings (Mandatory as Leaders to attend quarterly Leadership Meetings of the year - 4 mtgs per year)

Curriculum Report out (Submit the curriculum, book or study your group is doing every quarter to smallgroups@flamingoroad.org)

48 hour Compliance (Respond to all small group inquiries made to you personally within 48 hours of receipt)

Monthly Attendance Average (Submit Attendance Form every month by the 5th with your groups monthly attendance average- send form to smallgroups@flamingoroad.org)

Leadership Development (All Leaders should be identifying 4 potential Leaders per year - 1 per quarter to bring to Connection Meetings)

Participation (Participate in all if not most of Flamingo sponsored events/series/vision plans)

Outreach Initiatives (2 per year) (Participate in an outreach event atleast twice per year with your group or connections ministry, i.e., Habitat for Humanity, Broward Outreach Center, orphange)

1st Connections Leader Event of 09'

Leaders, thank you so much for your participation, your energy & zeal tonight at our 1st Connections Leader Meeting of 2009!

Your passion was real, your questions on track, your willingness to let us lead in this new direction evident. Plus I believe we may have been close to 99% attendance/participation tonight which is energizing!

Special thanks to all the new Group Leaders launching this quarter. Everything from new Women's groups, to Singles Groups, to Senior Adult groups!

Pastor Troy will be interviewed on TBN-Miami on Monday, January 12th. The show will air Monday Night at 10:00pm and Tuesday at 5:00pm. Be sure to watch!

CORE Gear, coming 2/1

Leaders, wanted to give you heads up as we plan for another session of GEARS, that the CORE Gear, which is our spiritual partnership class ("membership") and entry into GEARS 8 week Journey...will be offered the weekend of Jan.31st & Feb 1st, globally.

Please communicate this through your groups to any one interested in becoming a partner (or "member") of Flamingo.

A second GEARS journey (8 week series) will be launched this coming SPRING.
